Getting Started With Reaper Audio Setup
Hello Noobster, welcome to the second
tutorial on audio editing basics with Reaper, on the last tutorial we have
learn how to install Reaper, the software that I recommend you to use for all
your audio editing and recording.
The first thing to do next is to perform
a sound check to make sure everything is working properly. To do so we will
just put an audio file in repair and hit play, you will also learn how to
import a device in Reaper, there are many different ways to insert device into
the program today I will show you just two of them.
The most basic is drag and drop,
just grab any audio file in your desktop and drag it into the Reaper
environment. As you see Reaper automatically create a new track, I will explain
later. You can use also your mouse wheel to zoom in and out to see in more
detail. The second method to import audio let's first delete this, now the
second method to import audio files is to go to the menu bar, insert > media
file and now use your Windows or Mac and navigator to find the folder where
your audio tracks are in this case my desktop and click Open, now hit the play
button and listen.
If you can listen to your audio file
that means everything is working ok and you can go to the next tutorial. If you
do not hear your audio file there is a little problem somewhere and you will
need to figure it out. I have been teaching audio production for many years now
so I can help you with the most usual causes for this.
Please check all of them
in order as simple I’m done I’ve seen to you. Are your headphone speakers
connected? Is your computer volume control down? close Reaper and play your
song with any other software does it sound? Close chrome, firefox or any other
software already open and load your Reaper again, go to the upper right corner,
click the audio information to enter device settings and change your audio
device or input nd output selection until you can listen to your audio file. if you still have problem put your case on
comment section, we will discuss audio setup again later. later because it is
an important aspect understand before recording, now I hope you like this tutorial.
Next we will learn to navigate the Reaper user interface.
